The closest airport is our airport directly in Dortmund.

If you want to travel to and from Dortmund Airport using public transport, you can take the AirportExpress which connects directly with Dortmund Central Station. If you choose to take the AirportShuttle, this takes you directly to Holzwickede station. You can travel to both stations on the Deutsche Bahn’s local and intercity trains.

If you are planning to purchase your ticket online, please refer to  the Deutsche Bahn website. This only pertains to public transport and excludes shuttle tickets which can be purchased on the bus.

With two airport train stations, Düsseldorf Airport offers a convenient alternative to arriving by car.

Over 350 trains from S-Bahns (urban trains) to ICEs (intercity express trains), stop at Düsseldorf Airport train station everyday, which is located on the east side of the airport grounds. The SkyTrain, a fully automatic cabin railway, will take you straight into the terminal from the station building.

From Dusseldorf airport there are nonstop trains to Dortmund. The train takes about 50 minutes.
