Dr.-Ing. Tobias Hegmanns, born 1981 in Leverkusen, Germany, graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the TU Dortmund University in 2007. Also, he holds a Master of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, USA. He has been a scholar at the NRW Graduate School of Production Engineering and Logistics where he received his PhD in the field of collaborative demand and capacity planning in production networks in 2010. From 2012 to 2013, he took the role of an interims professor for the Chair of Factory Organisation at the TU Dortmund University. Since 2013, he is Academic Director of the Section Enterprise Logistics at the Fraunhofer IML and Deputy Head of the Chair of Enterprise Logistics. His research interests are planning and control methods for logistic networks, inventory management, design of logistic processes and logistic IT-systems. He is also active in the upcoming research field of future urban logistics and production.
